"Description of Moldova", drafted at the request of the Berlin Academy, earned the scholar prince Dimitrie Cantemir membership in the Academy. The first complete edition in German appeared in 1771. Before this, in the form of a serial, the work appeared in episodes in the publication "Magazin für die neue Historie und Geographie", edited by Anton Friedrich Büsching, in 1769 and 1770. These two copies have the period binding, made of cardboard, with a leather spine. Even if the binding is affected by the passage of time, the contents are in a good state of preservation.
