She attends the Faculty of Art and Design in Cluj-Napoca in the ceramic-glass-metal and sculpture sections. She starts opening solo exhibitions since high school, at the Art Museum in her hometown of Galați. She works as an assistant at Adrian Ghenie's studio and, during the 2009 - 2015 period, opens her own studio at the Cluj Brush Factory. Over time, her solo exhibitions occur in cities such as Cluj, Bucharest, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Paris, Budapest or New York, and some of her works are even included in collections such as: the Georges-Pompidou National Centre for Art and Culture in Paris, the Telekom Art Collection or Maria Enzersdorf Collection, Austria. Berlin provides the artist with the opportunity to express herself freely, without constraints. Berlin represents the liberation from norms, rules and the constant "how it should be done" that is often cultivated in schools. Kafchin believes that "the primary function of art is to express your mental and spiritual timeline in the form of a metaphor for everything". Her work is rife with a complementary duality, where seemingly unrelated motifs are harmoniously, almost poetically intermingled. The multitude of motifs that the artist captures in her canvases are juxtaposed, like a collage, resulting in a surreal, almost immersive painting. Motifs such as time, the cosmos or philosophy come together in a dystopian universe whereby Kafchin manages to transpose herself into the works she creates. The work in question dates back to 2015, thus coinciding with the period before her departure for Berlin. "Fog in Gruia" is a surrealist depiction of an apparently innocent landscape, which, however, acquires the valence of a utopia following the addition of certain aspects belonging to the fantasy, real sphere.
