The founder of Dadaism, the avant-garde literary current that spurred renewal in the field of literature and art, Tristan Tzara (1896-1963) was born in Moineşti in a family of Romanian Jews. Once settled in Switzerland and then in France, he became one of the main figures of the European avant-garde. The copy is part of an edition published in Paris in 1948 that gathers theoretical texts on the characteristics and evolution of the surrealist current. On the counter-page of the title page, we can see a beautiful handwritten dedication of the author to his friend, colleague in the French Communist Party, the Marxist philosopher René Maublanc.
