The volume is complete, totalling (6)+439+(1) pages. The binding, made of brown leather, decorated with sumptuous motifs that frame a cross with ornate arms, all covered with gold powder, as well as the bookend, date back to the 19th century. On the book’s pages one can see numerous notes from readers, Romanians and Ukrainians, as well as a beneficence note of the book, at the beginning of the 18th century, in the village of Berigovoi, located in the north of historical Maramureş, not far from the old Peri Monastery, nowadays integrated territory of Ukraine (f. 30 and 78-93). The number of copies arrived and kept on the territory of Romania is unknown. One copy is located in the Library of the Episcopate of Maramureş and in Oradea, two others are reported to be in Bucovina, and two others in the rare book fund of the Library of the Romanian Academy and in the Library of the Romanian Patriarchate in Bucharest. The writing with this title, written in the Orthodox spirit, includes the songs for Lent. This book is part of the series of monuments of written culture appeared in Ukraine, Kiev and Lvov, in the age of Petru Movilă, based on the edition published in Lvov, in 1642, under the spiritual patronage of the Romanian humanist scholar, following closely the edition that appeared also in Lvov, in 1663. The text of the title page reveals the translation of the Greek writing into the Slavonic language, by the Ukrainian editorial office, and its printing thanks to the efforts of the Stravopighia, that is, the Orthodox Brotherhood. On the back of the title page, one can see an engraving with the scene of the Assumption of the Mother of God, the Brotherhood’s patron icon, and, on the bottom, the coat of arms of the Brotherhood accompanied by verses, scenes depicted in wood by Simion Stavnițki. After a preface, which emphasizes the importance of the songs in the book, and some words addressed to the readers, on the over 400 pages of the book one can find the actual text of the Triod. This book was printed by Vasile Stavnițki (the one who, at the request of Metropolitan Dosoftei of Moldova, established the Romanian typography in Iasi), who decorated it with dozens of typical Baroque frontispiece, with dozens of ornate or historical initials and with final vignettes. The exceptional graphic is based on the over 24 engravings made in wood, thanks to the creation of no less than eight engravers, the most famous of which being Ieromonahul Gheorghe, Atanasie, Vasile Ușakevici and the famous Ilia Anagnoste (the engraver of the famous Homiliary of Varlaam). It is distinguishable thanks to the craftsmanship of execution: On page (6) - engraving with the scene of the Crucifixion of the Lord, worked by Ilia in 1639. On pages 54 and 65 - engraving of the Last Supper. On page 82 - engraving with the scene of the Crucifixion of the Lord, dated 1636. On page 112 - engraving with the scene of The Entombment of Christ. On page 218 - The Myrrh bearing women and on page 285 - The Samaritan woman. On pages 330 and 337 - engravings with The Synaxis of the Mother of God, made in 1663 by Vasile Uşakevici. On page 408 - engraving with the scene of the Last Judgment, also by Vasile Ușakevici. On the last page: The epilogue or the rosin of the book and a beautiful engraving with the coat of arms of the Brotherhood of Lvov. All these graphic elements and engravings turn the book into a work of art.
