The poet Emile Verhaeren (1855-1916), one of the founders of the Symbolist movement in European literature, was honoured with this bibliophile edition published in Paris in 1931, which included 11 previously unpublished poems from his work. The edition was illustrated with 3 woodcuts and 12 lithographs by Aristide Maillol (1861-1944), a painter and sculptor, considered one of the most valuable modern artists. The copy is numbered 45 out of 75 and was printed on Monval type paper.
