The Bucharest Municipality had the initiative to print in the capital this edition, marking five decades since the death of the national poet Mihai Eminescu. The paper is illustrated by painters Jean Al. Steriadi, Alexandru Poitevin Scheletty and Camil Ressu with their splendid chromolithographs inspired by Eminescu’s poems. The latter painter also painted a portrait of the poet which opens the volume in the form of a heliogravure. The copy shows a vintage cloth binding.
