Benjamin Fondane (Fundoianu) a leading voice of the European avant-garde, poet, philosopher, filmmaker, who debuted in Romania under the pseudonym B. Fundoianu is one of the personalities of the first half of the last century whose fate was tragically cut short in 1944 at Auschwitz. He left for France at the age of 24, after a fine literary career in his native country, and soon made a name for himself in Paris. Trois scenarii, Cinépoèmes. Illustré de deux photographies de Man Ray from 1928 is a document of international bibliophilic importance, being the poet's debut volume in the French literary space. This exceptional work of his is not an attempt to adapt the poetic text to cinema but fuses poetic language with the expressive demands of the film script, generating a revolutionary type of discourse that transgresses common patterns of logic and language. Copy numbered 8 out of 29 not intended for trade, printed for Licuță Brătășanu. Conservation status: relatively good, cover one and the first leaf are locally detached from the rest of the book.
