17. City Limits

The artist followed the courses of the Bucharest Art Academy, being one of Gheorghe Petrașcu's favourite students. Attracted to Bucharest's periphery areas, Cheller completed a series of urban landscapes, representing the suburbs. The works accomplished in the structural simplification manner, slightly angled, reminding of Expressionism, which several artists of those times use in order to solve some essentially realistic compositions.
