The patent is handwritten signed by the representatives of the French government. The decoration is kept in the original box. The historian Ioan Ursu (1875-1925) was a professor at the universities of Iași, Cluj and Bucharest, member of the Romanian Academy. Between 1919 and 1923, a period from which his decoration by the French state with its highest distinction also dates, he taught at the reorganized university of Cluj after the realization of the Great Union. The historian was involved in the action of establishing the Romanian unitary state, both in the country and in Italy where he participated in the organization of the Romanian Legion.
