Coiful este specific pentru Regimentul 1 Grăniceri Gardă - cu cazarma în București - și era folosit la ceremoniile de paradă. Coiful cu cifrul regelui Carol al II-lea este un model derivat din casca „Adrian”, tipologie ce se impune începând cu anul 1930 în ținuta de ceremonie a grănicerilor. Coiful are coama acuzată și decorată anterior cu o acvilă cu aripile deschise.
