Descriere
The work of Eugenia Iftodi is found at the boundary between the unaltered transcription of everyday existence and its interpretation in a deeply symbolic manner, which she takes over from the master Ion Țuculescu. Considered "the only student of Țuculescu", Eugenia Iftodi will transform the walks from Carol park or trips to monasteries around Bucharest in short creative camps. The artist will travel in many regions of the country and will capture in her work landscapes, traditions or customs of village life. She will enrich her personal collection with porcelain vases, from Olt or Basarabian carpets - the latter becoming a proof of love for native lands; and will capture on canvas fairs, village work or traditional interiors. Eugenia Iftodi will comprise an incursion into the village life and will record her wanderings both in the cursive line of the drawing and in the spelling of the text, which encompasses the body of ideas of her imagination. Both the automatic dictation and the dictations coming from the master Țuculescu, the one who will guide her path in perfecting and mastering the mysteries of oil painting, will finally add up to a diary dedicated to life and art. Deep feelings bind her to Ion Țuculescu, which transcend the boundaries of a simple friendship and converge towards an indissoluble union of the two in life and art. Eugenia Iftodi's success will reveal to us through the multitude of her personal and collective exhibitions, both in the country and abroad, that brought her work in front of a large audience.
