"Summer in the City". Post-War and Contemporary Art Auction #601/2025

In a social context marked by rapid and profound transformations, works of art, as an integral part of a society's cultural capital, represent not only a source of knowledge (human understanding) but also the visual premises necessary to develop a critical, solid thinking, as well as an authentic visual culture. The post-war and contemporary art auction comes with a selection of works whose common denominator is the aesthetic validity, which allows the integration of these auctioned works into a cultural circuit aligned with the main current concerns of humanity: biodiversity, technologization, self-identity, etc. Geta Brătescu, Corneliu Brudașcu, Mircea Cantor, Șerban Savu, Roman Tolicim Gheorghe Fikl, Andreea Grigoraș, IRLO, ROMB are just a few names, which although representing different generations, bring the (existentialist) truth into (the work of) art.
