Passionate about history and art in all its aspects, the artist felt the unique beauty of Bucharest, the charm and "perfume" of the old neighborhoods that he observed and captured in his works, one example being ”Cheiul Dâmboviței (1943)”. In his style and works, you can see the inclination and special connection he gives to Italian art and the Mediterranean style, due to his contact with this culture during his studies in Italy in the years 1946-1947, and also as a guest due to the invitation of the director of the Romanian Academy in Rome, professor Scarlat Lambrino. All these experiences leave their mark on his landscape works. Regarding the present work, the artist tried to capture aspects of urban life on the little streets of Bucharest in the 1960s. Here, one can see the idea of outlining and representing both a small street in Bucharest as well as the depiction of a female character within this background. The character is surprised from behind, in a white blouse and black skirt, represented at the beginning of the street, up through its course. Along the street and houses, beautifully arranged and built, both green trees and predominant colors of green, red and black can be seen in the yards that frame the entire composition beautifully.
