Born and raised in Liverpool, Lennon was involved in the "skiffle craze", a style of music influenced by jazz, blues, folk, and country music. His first band, named The Quarrymen, evolved into The Beatles in 1960. As the band disintegrated towards the end of the decade, Lennon embarked on a solo career, producing his legendary albums: "John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band” and Imagine, also renowned songs such as "Give Peace a Chance” and "Imagine”. John Lennon withdrew from the music scene in 1975, to be close to his family, but relaunched in 1980, with an album called Double Fantasy. He was killed three weeks after its release.
