Evolving in an era of turmoil and artistic revolutions, Mützner's creative activity would develop in a steady balance. He completed his artistic education at the National School of Fine Arts in Bucharest (1899-1900), followed by the Royal Academy of Art in Munich (1900-1902), the Julian Academy (1903) and the Académie Nouvelle de Peinture in Algiers (1910). He will leave a vast body of work consisting of landscapes, portraits, self-portraits, genre scenes, still life and flowers. Less evoked than the other genres, still life will make its presence felt from the 1920s to the 1940s in compositions such as: "Natură statică cu pepene" ("Still life with melon") (1927), "Bujori" ("Peonies") (1930), "Floarea soarelui" ("Sunflower") (1939), "Natură statică cu fructe și cozonac" ("Still life with fruit and swirl bread") (1940), "Natură statică cu lalele galbene și teorbă" ("Still life with yellow tulips and theorbo") (1941) and so on.
