A master par excellence in form construction, Sorin Ilfoveanu has over time, created a cyclic oeuvre where we distinguish landscapes, portraits, or compositions with symbol-characters. The form is the means through which the artist coordinates and articulates the visuals; and repetition is used to highlight the symbols. The artist becomes a master par excellence of form construction and proposes several variations of the human-nature and human-animal relationship. The fascinating encounters of straight or arched lines, faded or incisive, composing the emotional narrative of his works, materialize in a plethora of sign-characters. The female character appears in his work as a graphic element that tends to extend beyond the limits of the plate. Most often, one or more animal presences complete the artist's compositions, being directly associated with the human plane. Ilfoveanu sketches the woman without clothes, devoid of any non-essential artifices. With her hands crossed above her chest, the protagonist of this work transcends the plane of the work diagonally, in a fortunate intersection with the male character, lacking defining traits, and the animal presence specific to Ilfoveanu. The juxtaposition of lace lines succeed uninterrupted, proposing new shapes and dissolving the already known ones.
