The spring auction is welcoming art lovers with the well-known and anticipated Spring Auction. With a carefully curated selection, we reunite with the masters of Romanian art, classical and modern, painters and sculptors coming together in a top auction. From the brushstrokes of Iosif Iser, odalisks or individual characters, to a selection of works signed by Arthur Verona, with a direct provenance from the artist's family, family portraits, peasant women, and landscapes outlined in his characteristic style. Nicolae Tonitza is also present with a series of representative works done in pen and oil, from nudes, roses to a preliminary study for the well-known work "The Muse of the Satirist". Among the artists of the auction we also find Gheorghe Petrașcu, Constantin Baraschi, Eustațiu Stoenescu, as well as the academicians Carol Popp de Szathmary and Gheorghe Tattarescu. The animal theme is represented by Emil Volkers together with Rudolf Schweitzer-Cumpăna, Petre Iorgulescu Yor, Ion Jalea, Sava Henția, and Adam Bălțatu. The intimate indoor atmosphere is depicted by Ștefan Popescu and Ipolit Strâmbu. The masterpiece of the auction is "Sleeping Nymph" by Nicolae Grigorescu, both in size and theme, specific to the later Barbizon era, the 1870s. Among the prominent artists, we also have Ștefan Luchian with two graphic works, as well as a still life in oil, a jug with carnations, a beloved and appreciated theme. Ion Țuculescu is present with a work from his last creative period, the so-called "totemic phase" (1960-1962). We also find works signed by Sabin Bălașa that transition to the world of fantasy, alongside Felix Aftene, Jules Perahim, and Georges Mazilu.
