Chiar dacă tema apare după sejurul parizian (1871-1874), natura moartă cu flori pictată într-un stil academist pare să fie direct influențată de acei ani petrecuți de Sava Henția în capitala Franței. Atras de decorativismul aranjamentului floral, de eclerajul accentuat, dar și de paleta diversă ocazionată de o astfel de temă, opera lui Henția amintește de creația barocă celebrată în secolul al XVIII-lea în vestul Europei.
