The richness of the methods used in representing reality in his works reveal to us the life of cities and ports, psychological nuanced portraits, as well as some interiors. His artistic activity will be prolifically combined with his teaching activity. Between 1924 and 1928, he will work as a teacher at the Academy of Decorative Arts. In the same period, he will conduct free studies with willing students in his studio at the Kalinderu Museum. Also in 1928, he will become a painting professor at the School of Fine Arts in the capital. The interwar period, which also includes the present work, confirms the artists' preference for landscapes, interiors or static nature. The meticulousness that the artist demonstrates in the making of the details of the natural frame reveal to us the mastery and confidence of the draftsman. Marine landscapes, pages from the journal of Jean Al. Steriadi's native pilgrimages will appear recurrently over the years in his creation. Whether it's Mangalia or Balchik, Brittany, Deauville or even the port of Braila, water becomes a favorite element of the artist in transcribing nature onto his canvases. We observe how the gray tones of the earth slowly change into the blue of the sea or the sky, thus revealing the artist's quality as a colorist. Whether they are wild beaches or rigorously structured ports, the views offered by Steriadi invite us to enter his marine universe.
