The two boards were used during the Youth Training for Homeland Protection (PTAP) classes. These hours were mandatory and were held periodically held in all high schools in the country, regardless of their profile. They were attended by high school boys and girls who had a special blue uniform. The role of such classes was, at least from the point of view of the communist regime, to prepare students to participate in defending the country in case of attack.
