Men's platinum Richard Mille RM005 Felipe Massa AG TI wristwatch, automatic movement, reference RM005-PLT, limited edition 3/40. Skeleton dial with Arabic numerals and date at 7 o'clock. Original rubber band and platinum buckle. At the age of fifty, Richard Mille decided to create his own brand, with the idea to push watchmaking beyond what existed at that time, with a new, contemporary approach to watchmaking. He was planning to develop a single product: the watch of his dreams, an approach that involves operating with little attention to production costs, which were excessive. When it was launched in 2001, this extraordinary watch, with the tonneau case's ergonomic design, highlighted with distinctive torque screws and a convincing six-digit price, immediately placed the new brand at the summit of the luxury wristwatch market. With the launch of the first wristwatches almost 20 years ago, waiting lists to purchase wristwatches have grown significantly, and the most complicated references were created especially for personalities like: Rafael Nadal, Bubba Watson, Sylvester Stallone or Jackie Chan. The search for exceptional quality and perfection seems to be the driving force behind the Richard Mille brand and the RM-005 is a symbol of such a brand philosophy. Premiered in 2004, RM-005 was the brand's first automatic wristwatch, available in a variety of case materials during its production cycle. One of the most distinctive is the version shown here: the full grey finish and yellow inner frame, and the dial's colour accents, produced specifically for the former Formula 1 Ferrari driver, Filipe Massa. This watch is numbered 3 in a limited edition of 40 pieces. The wristwatch is accompanied by the provenance documents and its original box.
