Descriere

The second part of the Emil Wilhelm Becker Collection Auction, Sculptor and Medalist of the Royal House, brings together a much larger selection of objects that belonged to the artist. The core of this auction includes both works signed by the sculptor and a multitude of remnants of time, which definitely show his passion for collecting objects with history. Therefore, closely following the thread of this auction, we can observe the artist's multiple concerns, starting with his interest in graphics and sacred art, up to the impressive collection of tiles and deer trophies. Emil Wilhelm Becker collected extensions of the past and carried them through generations to the present. Thus, along with the death masks or pedestals made by sculptor Becker himself, we present a selection of works and objects with both historical and personal significance, such as the paintings that used to decorate the walls of the artist's salons on Battery Street in the former Uranus neighborhood, the ornamental tiles similar to the famous azulejos from Porto, or the photographs that come from the artist's family collection, becoming the testimonies of posterity.
