The German-born engraver Johann Alexander Böner (1647-1720) painted a portrait of the Moldavian ruler Gheorghe Ștefan (April-May 1653, July 1653-March 1658) using the image of Michael the Brave. The engraving on coper was imprinted in Vienna around the year 1699.
