The work, written by Jean Henri Abdolonyme Ubicini, a French journalist and historian who was close to the peaceful Wallachian revolutionaries, was published in favour of the cause of the Romanians in the context of the Crimean War ended in 1855 and of the Peace Congress that followed, which discussed the project of the Union of the Principalities. The piece is part of a historigraphically very important edition, and, at the same time very rare. The copy is uncut. The last bundle, starting on page 177, is detached from the body.
