The obverse of the medal, made in the workshop of the Huguenin engraver in Le Locle, Switzerland, features the bust of King Ferdinand I, facing left, King Carol I, facing right, and the young Michael I, in Regency, facing front, surrounded by the phrase "Kings of Romania liberators, defenders and protectors of Dobrogea" and the artist's signature; the reverse depicts the Emperor Trajan and on Saint Stephen the Great, alongside representative monuments of local and regional history and the inscription "50 years since the reintegration of Dobrogea into Romanian life 1878 - 1928 / Romanian Numismatic Society".
