The bronze medal was made by the German engraver Wilhelm Friedrich Kullrich, to commemorate and award the winners of the Agricultural Competition in Botoșani, the county in Romania which organized this type of competition rather as a sign of appreciation. The obverse features in the centre the effigy of King Carol I, facing left, while the reverse captures the legend "Agricultural competition in Botoșani district - Honours of the Cultivator 1880", surrounded by animals and symbols of agriculture.
