The work was published by Ernst Henri in Paris in an exceptional edition to promote Romania in the years immediately following the end of the First World War. The 34 splendid chromolithographs reproduced images of Romanian folk rugs from different regions of the country. The portfolio opens with an introduction written by Alexandru Tzigara Samurcaș, director of the Museum of Folk Art in Bucharest, and with a list of plates that includes for each piece the ethnographic region, the dimensions, the public or private collections they come from and, where appropriate, the exhibitions they were part.

For clarifications regarding the bidding procedure, hammer price costs, guarantee, payment, and collection terms for the winning lot, we recommend carefully reading/re-reading the Bidding Regulations.
