Identifying elements of iconographic and stylistic order: Apostle Mark was part of a Russian iconostasis, from the Apostles' frieze, of which six icons have been preserved in the collection (Apostle Luke, Apostle Bartholomew, Saint John the Theologian, Apostle Thomas, Archdeacon Aitala). The Apostle and Evangelist Mark is depicted standing, oriented to the left and carries the veiled Gospel with his hand. He is wearing a green chiton and a red himation. He has a halo around his head. The icon field is framed by an elevated wide frame. The typology of the face and model are executed according to the style of the Russian painting school from the XVI-XVII centuries. Identifying elements of technical order: The painting support is formed from a wooden board with a crossed frame on the front and is reinforced with two side bars on the backside. Conclusions: The painting of the icon, of a high artistic refinement, is executed in the style of the Russian painting school from the first half of the XVII century (A.D.).
