With his left hand, he holds a phylactery that contains his prophecy, and with his right hand, he points it out. He is dressed in a blue chiton and a purple himation. Traditionally, his face is modeled in shades of brown, and his long hair and long, pointed beard are painted in fine strands. Identification elements on a technical order: The wooden support of the icon is ended at the top in the form of a brace, and on the verso, it is strengthened with two lateral crosspieces.
