On the gold background of the icon with a thickened frame, the standing figures of Saint Apostle John and Saint Apostle Peter are depicted. Both are oriented towards the left, holding the Gospel (Saint Peter and the Key) to their chests. Apostle John is wearing a dark blue chiton and sky-blue himation. The drapery of the robes is done according to the style of the time, in angular folds, with darker and lighter shades of the same color. The typology and line of the faces are crafted with particular mastery in the style of painting from Wallachia at the beginning of the 16th century (A.D.).
