Identification elements of iconographic and stylistic order: It is an imperial icon from a Maramureș iconostasis. Jesus Christ is depicted in his capacity as King and High Priest, wearing a red painted sackcloth and on his head the high-priestly miter. On the opened Gospel, the text is written in the language of the Ruthenians from Maramureș. He is seated on a golden throne. On his left and right, standing, Saint John the Baptist and the Mother of God are depicted, as intercessors, the depiction also being of the Deisis type. The faces of the characters, flat and unvalued, are graphically created. In the upper part, the background of the icon is stuccoed, decorated with ample vegetal motives typical to the era, over which a silver leaf was applied, then painted yellow. The halos of the characters, the miter and omophor of Jesus are decorated in the same way. Two wide and raised frames, painted red and ochre-gold, frame the icon. Identification elements of technical order: The wooden support of the icon painting consists of a thick wooden board, having a single semi-buried traverse at the back of the icon. During the restoration of the icon, the wooden board was creased to allow its straightening, as it was very curved. Conclusions: The Icon of Jesus Christ as King and High Priest, both through painting and decorative elements, is characteristic of the icon painting from Maramureș from the 18th century (A.D.).
