Iconographic and stylistic identification elements: Saint Paraskeva is an imperial icon and was part of the imperial icons of an iconostasis, possibly even the main icon. Against a blue background, at the top, and green, at the bottom of the icon, Saint Paraskeva is depicted below the waist, slightly turned to her left. Over her green dress she wears a red cloak and on her head a black veil. The shaping of her face reveals influences from Western easel painting. Around her head there is a halo. With one hand she holds the martyr's cross, and with the other a prayer bead string. The inscription designating her name is written in white, in Cyrillic characters. Technical identification elements: The wooden support of the icon painting consists of two layers, connected at the back with two semi-buried crossbars. Conclusions: The painting of the icon is characteristic of the transitional phase from traditional painting to Western easel painting. After an attempt to reconcile the two artistic styles, the end result will be the definitive adoption of the Western style in religious painting (A.D.).
