Identification elements in terms of iconographic and stylistic order: The icon is a feast icon and was part of the frieze of an iconostasis, of which nine icons are preserved in the collection. The anonymous painter depicts the scene of the Birth of the Mother of God ("The Birth of the Most Holy" in the inscription on the icon), simplifying the consecrated scene to a minimum. Against the backdrop of religious architectures, which stand out against the blue background of the icon, the aforementioned scene unfolds: on the left, seated in an armchair, is Saint Joachim, and on the right of the composition, Saint Anna is seated on a bed, awkwardly depicted vertically. Between them, the Virgin Mary, as an infant, is lying on a small bed. The composition is strictly symmetrical. The color scheme is dominated by red and blue. Identification elements in technical order: The wooden support of the painting is made of a single plank, without a cross beam. Conclusions: The painting of the icon stylistically fits in the religious painting practiced in the first half of the 19th century in local painting workshops, more conservative, which gradually will transform into folk painting (A.D.).
