Identification elements of iconographic and stylistic order: The image represents Jesus Christ down to below the middle. He blesses with his right hand and with the left he holds the open Gospel (partially destroyed text). Jesus wears a red chiton with a gold stripe at the neck and sleeves and a blue himation, lined with red (different from tradition). The background of the icon is decorated with Baroque decorative stucco motifs and is painted with red ocher. The halo around the head is highly carved and decorated with vegetal stucco motifs and is painted like the background of the icon. Above the shoulders, in two vermillion red painted cartouches, the initials of his name are written in white. A double profiled frame is applied to the icon, painted in red and green. Typologically, his face is close to the painting of icons from Poland and Slovakia, which, since the 17th century, has been influenced by Western painting. Technical identification elements: Spruce wood panel, reinforced at the back with two semi-buried crossbars, painted frame, applied to the icon, relief halo, stucco. Conclusion: The work is representative of the icon painting from Maramureș from the 18th century: on one hand, the perpetuation of tradition is noted, and on the other hand a more direct influence of Western painting on traditional painting is observed, due to the neighboring countries of Maramureș (A.D.).
