Identification elements of an iconographic and stylistic order: The icon was part of the Apostles series of an iconostasis. Apostle John the Theologian is depicted standing, against the golden ochre background of the icon, on the top, and green at the bottom, facing to the right. He is dressed in a red chiton and blue himation, and with his right hand, he is holding the Gospel. Around his head, he wears a golden halo. The features of the face and the model of the face are made according to the characteristics of the Russian painting style of the 16th-17th centuries. Also, the handwriting of the inscription is characteristic of the era. The icon is in the series with the icons of Saint Apostle Luke, Saint Apostle Bartholomew, Saint Apostle Thomas, Saint Apostle Mark, and Saint Archdeacon Aitala. Identification elements from a technical order: The wooden support of the icon has a wide decroached frame on the face and is reinforced with two lateral crosspieces on the back. Conclusions: The icon belonged to a Russian iconostasis and was painted in the style of the Russian school from the first half of the seventeenth century (A.D.).
