Identification elements of iconographic and stylistic nature: In the deep field of the icon, bordered by a double frame of the twisted rope motif on the ochre-golden background, Jesus Christ is represented sitting on an imposing throne, rendered in a stylized manner. He blesses with his right hand, and with his left hand he holds the open Gospel, written in Slavic language. On the Gospel, in the right part, below, is the year of execution of the painting - 1737, written in Cyrillic letters. Behind the throne, above some clouds, the intercessors are represented - Virgin Mary and St. John the Baptist, in a prayer attitude, dressed according to tradition. Virgin Mary wears a blue dress and a red maphorion, and St. John the Baptist, over the camilafcă, wears a blue cloak. Jesus is dressed in a brick-red chiton and light blue himation, with the folds of the garment rendered schematically, in darker or lighter shades of the same color. The cruciferous halo around his head is highly embossed. His elongated face figure, painted with white ochre, has its features graphically made, in black, as are his hand and the faces of the intercessors. With its whole texture, the icon falls into the traditional style of Maramureș painting.
Identification elements of technical nature: Fir wood, reinforced on the back with two semi-buried crossbars. On the front, the wood is peeled off, forming a double frame of the characteristic motif of the twisted rope. The halo is highly raised.
Conclusions: The painting of the icon falls into the characteristics of the painting from Maramureș. Due to the compositional clumsiness, through the flat drawing of the faces, through the schematization of the folds of the garments, but also through the sober and restrained chromatic, the painting of the icon approaches the wall painting of the wooden churches from the area. The highly raised halo and the presence of the twisted rope are also specific local elements (A.D.).
