3PC. The Red Cross Project to reduce school dropout and provide a hot meal for disadvantaged children in the Jiu Valley
Estimate
EUR 250.000 - 0
Session
Wed, 8 December 2021 18:30
Description
More than half of te Romanian children live in extreme poverty and social exclusion. 200,000 children go to sleep hungry every night. Children that have never been surrounded by toys, but only by severe poverty, violence, helplessness. Children that go to school and go to bed with an empty stomach and sad eyes, children for whom water, light, heat or any form of comfort is a luxury. They exist, whether we see them or not. This is the reason why, since 2014, the Romanian Red Cross has set up four day care centres in some of the poorest areas of the country: Botosani, Craiova, Lupeni and Babadag - E.G.A.L. Because all children need education. Generosity. Abilities. Freedom. The aim of the project is to improve the social, study and last but not least, emotional situation of as many marginalized children and young people as possible. Here they acquire life skills, learn to verbalize and control their repressed feelings, receive a warm meal, get help with their homework, discover what normality means. And they transform, blossom and smile before our eyes. All these things have a price, but we really want to take the help further. It is said that love makes people equal. We do not lack love, but the funds to help those children. The budget needed to do them well is about 50,000 euro per year for each centre.
Research information
This lot does not have a material form, but a symbolic and strictly an emotional one. In exchange for the price that they offered, price that it is in fact a donation or a sponsorship, A10 does not provide the bidders an object, but a certificate of award, offered to the bidder that offered the highest amount, and a certificate of honorable contribution to the bidders that offered smaller amounts, amounts that are equally necessary to raise funds for the Red Cross project to reduce school dropout and provide a hot meal for disadvantaged children in the Jiu Valley. The price of the lot is cumulative, so the bids do not eliminate each other, but, taking into consideration the humanitarian purpose of the auction, they are cumulating, reflecting the current cumulative price and the number of bidders.
