The medal with handle, made by the famous German engraver Wilhelm Friedrich Kullrich, features on the obverse the bust of King Carol I facing left, surrounded by his title and a six-pointed star, and on the reverse the inscriptions "In memory of the great manoeuvres of the army" and "Romanian since 1894", surrounded by a laurel wreath, flanked by three stars, two smaller ones in five horners and one in six, similar to the one on the obverse.
