Identifying elements of iconographic and stylistic order: The icon is a holiday icon and was part of the frieze of an iconostasis, of which nine icons have been preserved in the collection. The anonymous painter depicts the scene of Thomas Sunday (Thomas's disbelief) with a more personal interpretation. The scene unfolds in front of conventional architectures, not inside a room, as is traditional. In the center of the composition, Jesus Christ, surrounded by Apostles, has his chest bare, and the Apostle Thomas is touching his wound. The composition is strictly symmetrical, with Jesus situated on the axis of symmetry. The dominant chromatic is red, ochre and blue. Identification elements of technical order: The wooden support of the painting consists of a single board, without crossbeam. Conclusions: The painting of the icon stylistically fits into the religious painting practiced in the first half of the nineteenth century in local painting workshops, a style that will gradually turn into folk painting (A.D.).
